With my paintings and drawings of the water and the sea, I try to grasp the intangible, not just the water but the things ‘living’ in it. In the oceans there is a global ecological disaster taking place, caused by human plastic debris. The underwater garbage dumps in the sea have changed the landscape of the oceans in a dramatic way. This maritime tragedy can be seen differently from under the water surface and into the unknown abyss. From this perspective, you can see and imagine strange but beautiful flowers, artificial jellyfish and abstract mutating fish. The sea embrases it all, living and non-living creatures.
